The “O” in “Crochet”

by Suzann Thompson | May 7, 2008 | Crochet, Crochet Bouquet, Retro Blog Post, TextileFusion

Thank you to Susie for asking the first question on “Curious and Crafty Readers” about Crochet Bouquet. She wanted to make the red flower that takes the place of the ‘O’ in ‘Crochet’ on the book cover (it also appears on page 11). I...

by Suzann Thompson | Apr 29, 2008 | Crochet, Crochet Bouquet, Retro Blog Post, TextileFusion, Workshops

Inspired by Irish Crochet

by Suzann Thompson | Apr 23, 2008 | Crochet, Crochet Bouquet, Retro Blog Post, TextileFusion

I can’t remember now exactly when and how I found out about Irish Crochet Lace, but it was love at first sight. The detailed, imaginative crocheted flowers and leaves amazed me, and they are the original inspiration for Crochet Bouquet.

The Ray Flower is sweet when you work it up in a tiny thread like DMC’s Cebelia No. 20. I used dark and light shades of blue and a contrasting golden. Feel free to use colors that match your china or kitchen decor. I sewed the flowers on my placemats. Using...

by Suzann Thompson | Apr 10, 2008 | Knitting, Polymer Clay, Retro Blog Post, TextileFusion, Workshops

Our wisteria bloomed at the end of March. We loved going in and out of the house, so we could admire the abundant flowers and breathe their sweet scent. I wish I could attach that smell to this post, so you could enjoy it, too! When the wisteria blooms, I know that...

I designed, crocheted, wrote patterns, and took step-by-step pictures of a bunch of flowery bookmarks. Most of the ones in the picture made it into a kit published by Quarto.

The Town ‘n Country Quilt Guild of Stephenville, T The Town ‘n Country Quilt Guild of Stephenville, TX, close at 4 PM today. There’s time, if you live close by, to visit all the quilts and the Country Store, where you can find lots of previously loved items for sale. There was a pretty good stack of doilies yesterday, priced to move. Somebody bought a couple or three, and I don’t know what happened after that. Maybe there are some left.

I put the bookcase back in my bedroom and loaded the books back on the lower shelves. The poor tissue box sits on the floor now, because I am not going to put anything on top of that mosaic, if I can help it! Thank you, Ella and Wren!❤️❤️
