I was never very fond of this bedtime prayer, wher I was never very fond of this bedtime prayer, where children had to think about the possibility of dying in their sleep. But I have to admit this filet crocheted version of the prayer with pictures of children was Impressive. You can find the pattern for sale at vintageknitcrochet.net – swipe to see. Seen at the Austin Citywide Vintage Sale, where Michael Longcrier has his many vintage embroideries, bandannas, quilts, crochet, and clothing piled on tables. It’s a delightful riff on Eveline Foland’s Giddap the Very Democratic Donkey and Ararat the Elephant designs from the 1930s. They’re oh so familiar to me, bc I made them a few years ago. It was great to see this fun new interpretation of fun old designs.
