by Suzann Thompson | Nov 29, 2008 | Crochet, Crochet Bouquet, Retro Blog Post, TextileFusion

Corrugated Leaves from Crochet Bouquet make a good-looking poinsettia for a Christmas table mat. I used only five leaves. Seven red leaves will give you a much fuller poinsettia. A fuller seven-leaved poinsettia looks good with a couple of green leaves tucked behind...

I’m proud to have served as a CKC Board member since 2018. The Maria C. Vallejo Lace Collection has been years in the making, with a lot of hard work from experts on our Board of Directors. I’m not an expert in collections, but I got to help out as a proofreader. We all pitched in.

I was never very fond of this bedtime prayer, wher I was never very fond of this bedtime prayer, where children had to think about the possibility of dying in their sleep. But I have to admit this filet crocheted version of the prayer with pictures of children was Impressive. You can find the pattern for sale at vintageknitcrochet.net – swipe to see.
Seen at the Austin Citywide Vintage Sale, where Michael Longcrier has his many vintage embroideries, bandannas, quilts, crochet, and clothing piled on tables. He used to sell by the pound, but now he casts his experienced eye over your pile of stuff, and makes mental calculations to arrive at a price.

Political Circus, by Misty M. Cole, was part of 50 Political Circus, by Misty M. Cole, was part of 50 Years of Great Quilts at @quiltfestival last week. It’s a delightful riff on Eveline Foland’s Giddap the Very Democratic Donkey and Ararat the Elephant designs from the 1930s. They’re oh so familiar to me, bc I made them a few years ago. It was great to see this fun new interpretation of fun old designs. Swipe to see more.
